Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held on Saturday,
February 16, 2008, 2:00 P.M. in the Conference Center at
Southwestern Oklahoma State University under the direction

Shirley was born on July 17, 1949, in Colby, Kansas to
Earl and Mary (Brown) Oard and passed away on Tuesday,
February 12, 2008, at OU Medical Center-Presbyterian Tower
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a lengthy illness to which
she fought bravely with more courage than most would dare
survive. Shirley was raised on a farm & ranch operation
North of Levant, KS, and attended school in Colby, Kansas,
graduating from Colby High School in 1967. Shirley learned
at an early age to help take care of her younger siblings to
whom she was a babysitter, confidant and friend, mostly
friend. She helped on the farm at an early age cooking,
cleaning house, sewing, and watching over her younger
siblings, Lila and Dale, keeping them on the straight and
narrow when she was able and when she was not, she enabled
them in her own way. She could drive a tractor as well as
any man her age, help in the branding, or assist the
doctoring transition of a cow/calf program when needed. Her
skills and her love were unlimited. She lived and loved with
boundless capacity and was always ready to lend a helping
hand, even if it was to her disadvantage. Shirley would open
the door to an absolute stranger and greet them with care
and compassion. Some called that caring naive but now they
call it love from her heart and we can all learn from her
unselfish demeanor.
On May 22, 1976, she married Harlan D. Frame "Dutch" in
Colby, Kansas. To this loving union was born a son, Fredrick
Andrew Frame (fondly called Andy). Shirley received her
Degree in Pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State
University. She worked at numerous pharmacies around the
state of Oklahoma with the latest being the Wal-Mart in
Weatherford.
Shirley enjoyed family, her children, nieces and nephews,
watching movies, traveling with her husband Dutch, riding in
his newest or oldest vintage race car, gardening in the back
yard, raising flowers, riding horses with her sister,
talking about old times or times to come, camping in remote
campsites in the Colorado Mountains with her family, or just
sitting around recalling old times with friend or family.
Shirley was a doer and a fixer and always had a kindred
spirit. According to Shirley all would be well if she
applied herself to make it so.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Harlan D. Frame
"Dutch" of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; her parents,
Earl and Mary Oard of Colby, Kansas; one son, Andy Frame of
Davis, California; two step-sons, Harlan Dale Frame III and
wife, Melinda, of Dewitt, Michigan and Stephen "Bear" Hewitt
Frame of Durham, North Carolina; two brothers, Dale Oard and
wife, Vickie, and children, Dan Oard and wife, Teri, and
children, all of Colby, Kansas; and one sister, Lila Amos
and husband, Bob, of Colby, Kansas, and many nieces and
nephews that will fondly remember her as the favorite aunt
