Weatherford Area Livestock Show returns in 2 weeks

The 44th Annual Weatherford Area Livestock Show is set to begin in less than 2 weeks. The event, hosted at the Weatherford Agriculture Complex in Rader Park, began in 1977 by a group of individuals who wanted to draw people back to Weatherford while rewarding area children.

Weatherford man accused of indecent acts

A Weatherford man is charged with lewd or indecent acts to a child 16 or under, according to an affidavit issued by Custer County District Court. Jay Clayton Richardson, 58, was accused of the charges after allegedly making sexual advances with a 15 yearold victim, according to court records.

WPS to receive $1.4 million less this year

During the Monday school board meeting, Weatherford Interim Superintendent Steve Callen said the district financials are in good shape all things considered, but it will be receive about $1.4 million less in revenue this year.
