City officials and L5 Construction announced the opening of a new Starbucks, expected to be completed by May 2021.
“We are excited to announce Starbucks will be coming to the City of Weatherford very soon,” Shawn Driver, principal of L5 Construction, said.
“This shows the validation of Weatherford and the economic progress we are making,” Weatherford Economic Developer Yolanda Creswell said. “This will help bring in more companies, restaurants and retailers to Weatherford. More businesses could follow suit of Starbucks.”
The location will be just north of McDonald’s where the Eagle Car Wash currently stands. The car wash will be torn down to make way for the new building.
Driver said the Starbucks will be a stand-alone establishment offering the same exact services someone would find at any other Starbucks.
L5 Construction also built the Burger King location and the building where Qdoba is located.
Driver said there is a two-step process before the location can open.
“As far as our work goes as the landlord, we will be finished in March with the land,” Driver said. “Starbucks has 60 days after that to get ready for opening and we expect that to be in May 2021.”
Creswell said she appreciates Weatherford’s partnership with L5.
“We really appreciate L5 and the work they do and have done,” Creswell said. “This could not have happened without the work of L5.”
