During a Weatherford City Commission meeting Wednesday, the commission approved several items for the Weatherford Police Department and 911 center.

The commission accepted an interlocal agreement between Blaine County and the City of Weatherford. This annual agreement allows the Weatherford 911 Center response to emergency calls for Blaine County. This will be the fourth year the local 911 center has responded to Blaine County emergencies. This item was unanimously approved 5-0.

The commission also approved a request from WPD in the amount of $2,580 for preliminary breath testers. The breath testers will be purchased through the municipal court alcohol and drug crime prevention fund which means this is not coming out of a city budget because the Weatherford Police Department is allotted for those funds.

The commission also accepted a bid on the asbestos abatement located at the old hospital building and location for the new police station 911 center located at 215 N. Kansas. Crystal Creek, LLC, offered the low bid of $189,990. After the abatement is finished, demolition of the old hospital building will begin.
