GEARY — The Hydro-Eakly Lady Bobcats basketball team played at Geary Tuesday night and won 70-14.

“We were excited to play,” coach Jeremy Tharp said. “We got after it and dominated and shut them down. Geary really struggled.”

Hydro-Eakly played well on both sides of the ball and was ahead 46-9 at halftime. Hydro-Eakly’s defense held Geary scoreless in the third quarter and was ahead 65-9 going into the fourth quarter. Geary kept even in the fourth quarter, with each team scoring 5 points. Hydro-Eakly won the game 70-14.

“It was one of those games where we could have made it look as bad as we wanted to,” Tharp said. “We worked on lots of things this game and hopefully next week, the competition steps up a notch.”

Rees Berkey and Rachel each scored 19 points, Macey Buss scored 14 points.

“We just want to work on little things like moving the ball,” Tharp said. “We defend well and rotate well, but sometimes we over rotate. It is just a few little things, but can make a big difference in the end.”
