MacKenzie Holden is a senior at Hydro-Eakly.

Her parents are Cherilyn and Dusty Holden and her two brothers are Isaiah and Devin.

Holden plans to attend the University of Oklahoma next fall and major in biological sciences.

Holden said senior year is just like any other year, just with more important things.

“I am going to cherish everything about this year while I can,” she said.

Much like anything else in the world right now, Holden is afraid of losing important parts of her senior year to COVID-19.

“I am just trying to remain hopeful and positive,” she said.

Holden’s favorite memories from high school are anything cheer related. One thing she’ll never forget about high school will be cheering on the sidelines with her friends during basketball games.

When asked what teacher has impacted her, Holden said, “Every teacher I’ve had has impacted me, the way I think, and who I am.”

In 5 years, she sees herself in medical school. In 10 years, she sees herself working in a hospital somewhere.

Holden’s advice to underclassmen is to “Show up. Show up to everything as often as you can, go to the basketball game, go to the dance, just be a part of the fun and make the memories.”

“Thank you to my parents and family for always supporting me,” Holden said. “Thank you to my cheer coach, Mrs. Kimble, for making us better cheerleaders and dealing with all of the craziness we put you through.”
