Ysabeau Cloninger is a senior at Hydro-Eakly High School and has been at H-E since she was in Pre-K.

Her parents are Eric and Jacqueline Cloninger.

“My favorite memory is Christmas 2015, the last Christmas I had with my mom,” Cloninger said. “I’ll cherish that memory.”

As of right now, Cloninger’s most challenging part of her senior year is all the homework she has been having.

“It’s pretty hard, but also scary to know that next year I won’t be back at Hydro”, she said.

After high school, Cloninger plans on attending the University of Central Oklahoma, and she plans on majoring in psychology to become a clinical psychologist. Cloninger said she is very excited to experience living in a new place and furthering her education.

As a 3-year H-E cheerleader, one of Cloninger’s most favorite memories involved the state basketball tournament last year.

“Last year, at the state basketball games, after our girls won (the state championship), was a very exciting moment for everyone, and I was very honored to cheer on our teams,” she said.

Cloninger said her most memorable advice that she’s received is not to worry about what others think and be genuine to herself.

Cloninger’s advice she would like to give the underclassmen is not to procrastinate and stay on top of their assignments.

Cloninger said she was very impacted by former Hydro-Eakly teacher, Reed Allen.

“Although he no longer teaches at Hydro-Eakly, he sparked my interest in science and never made me feel unintelligent because I didn’t understand a certain topic,” Cloninger said.

Because of the unusual year, Cloninger feels like she will miss out on an awesome student section at basketball games and hopes to have graduation to celebrate with her family.

In her free time, she likes to paint, watch Minecraft videos or hang out with her friends.

Cloninger would like to thank her aunt, Cheri, for always being there for her and believing in her.
