Two Southwestern Oklahoma State University graduate students in Weatherford have been selected to each receive $2,000 Delta Mu Delta Board Award Scholarships.

Smeyder Steffanie Silvera of Luque, Paraguay, and Tyler Freeburg of Thomas each received the scholarship due to their academic achievement, leadership qualities, service to SWOSU and the community, and outstanding overall character.

Silvera played for the SWOSU soccer team as an undergraduate student while completing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship. After graduating in December 2019, Silvera is pursuing a Master of Business Administration. She currently is employed as a SWOSU graduate assistant and helps coach the SWOSU soccer team.

Freeburg was awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in May 2020. He is now pursuing a Master of Business Administration while working full time at Oklahoma Bank and Trust in Clinton.

Delta Mu Delta is an international honor society that recognizes academic excellence in baccalaureate, master’s and doctorate degree business administration programs at Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) accredited schools.
