Two suspects have been charged in connection with a reported burglary in Cordell.

Cordell man, Kobe Kennemer, allegedly stole jewelry from a home in Cordell. Burns Flat Police Department initiated a traffic stop outside of city limits. Police said they had found a plastic container which had jewelry in it. An occupant was with Kennemer in the vehicle, identified as Mandy Adams of Clinton. Adams told police she received the container from Kennemer, in an attempt to mend their relationship. Adams also told police Kennemer got it from an abandoned house he had been staying in, according to the probable cause affidavit filed Tuesday in Washita County District Court.

Police later searched the house Kennemer had been staying in and found more jewelry under the bed. The jewelry was seized and placed into evidence, according to court records.

Adams was charged with knowingly receiving stolen property and Kennemer was charged with knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property, according to the affidavit.

Kennemer has a past conviction of domestic assault and battery which he pleaded guilty to late last month, according to court records.
