47th annual fall festival set for Sept. 19 in Elk City

ELK CITY — The Elk City Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to the 47th Annual Elk City Fall Festival Saturday and Sunday.

This year’s event will be at the Elk City Convention Center, 1016 E. Airport Industrial Road. Event hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is Free.

Billed as the largest arts and crafts show in Western Oklahoma and, as in years past, this year’s event will feature artists and crafts people who will be displaying their items for purchase throughout the entire weekend.

“From fine arts, to pottery, to ceramics, to custom-made jewelry and more, the festival is a terrific way to get a head start on your holiday shopping,” chamber Executive Director Susie Cupp said. “This definitely is one of our favorite events according to our local residents and the many visitors from around the region and the committee does an outstanding job in pulling it all together.”

Along with more than 100 professional booths expected at this year’s event in the north exhibit hall, there will be several food vendors located at the outdoor food court by the big white tent north of the north exhibit hall.

Those confirmed for the show include: Merritt Ag Boosters, will be located in the North Exhibit Hall-East room and will be serving up grilled onion burger, hot dogs, chips and drinks.

MMP Concessions will be serving deep fried oreos, corn dogs, curly fries, nachos, cheese on a stick, fountain drinks and fresh squeezed lemonade.

Blue Mountain Smoke will have their BBQ pulled pork, brisket, sausages and sides. Pacific Brim will be serving Polynesian cuisine along with deep fried burgers, fries and deep fried dogs.

Abby’s Authentic Mexican Food will be serving tacos, burritos and drinks.

Also, Sno Way Shaved Ice will be available with their snow cones, cotton candy, caramel apples, caramel popcorn, soft pretzels and fresh lemonade.

Goodie Snacks will have their kettle corn outside and their roasted nuts and fudge in the north exhibit hall west room.

The food vendors will be serving beverages. The festival committee will present numerous awards in selected booth categories. Awards to be presented in the professional booths category will be Best of Show, first, second, and third place for fine art, photography, pottery, sculpture and fine woods.

“Literally thousands of people have gone through this annual event and we’d love to see everyone from Elk City and the surrounding communities come out and have fun with us again this year,” Cupp said.

The festival committee would like to thank the City of Elk City for helping set up and also helping with some of the advertising, along with Janie’s Garden Center for decorating. Also, thank you to all the volunteers and exhibitors.
