Just Joy is a non-profit activity center for adults with special needs.

“It’s a safe place, which families know they can leave their family members during the day while they are at work,” activities director for Just Joy Kim Steinly said.

Just Joy provides different activities such as helping in the community, volunteering at Burcham Elementary and various projects for attendees to work on throughout the day.

Just Joy will be located in the First Baptist Church building in Weatherford.

“We haven’t actually got to set up inside the building yet, it’s a lot of things that have to be done correctly, but we are really working on getting in the building,” Steinly said.

The organization started last year, but has struggled through COVID-19 and now is starting to pick things back up.

Contributions can be made at First National Bank in Weatherford. Just Joy also is looking at different activities with the attendees. Just Joy does have applications available for volunteers, and a background check is mandatory.
