The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will host its third annual Tee Off For CASA.
The event is 9 a.m. September 25. It will be hosted at the Prairie West Golf Club in Weatherford.
Spots still are available to compete in the tournament. The price for admission is $300 for a team of four. “A big part of the money we raise will go to CASA volunteers, to train the volunteers, and to go through extensive background checks,” CASA of Western Oklahoma Executive Director Jackie Aaron said.
Aaron also said the money will go toward needs for children like food, or if a child plays sports and needs equipment.
CASA hires volunteers to get to know foster children and help guide their way through the foster care system. “We recruit volunteers to advocate on behalf of foster care children, and we develop relationships with the kids, we speak with anyone who is involved with the child’s life, whether it be parents teachers or counselors. Ultimately when they go to court we submit a written report on what CASA feels is in the best interest of the child.” Aaron said.
