A revised fee list the Weatherford Fire Department asked for regarding new and existing construction was approved by the Weatherford City Commission by a vote of 4-0.
The fees will be collected for code and inspection services provided by the city on a regular basis. The cost of services should cover all costs associated with an activity, including plan reviews and development related activities including plan reviews and re-inspections.
Fire Chief Mike Karlin said some of the fees had been in place, the new fees will be similar to what other cities across the state are charging for.
Fees for plan review are to be paid upon application for building permit.
Existing plan review fees
Fire/Life Safety Plan Review, billed to the general contractor — 8 cents per foot, with 50 percent up front and the final walk-through included.
Fire Sprinkler Review, billed to the general contractor — 2 cents per foot, or $50, whichever is the greater, a $150 fee after the project reached 50 percent complete and a $150 fee for when the project is complete.
Fire Alarm Review, billed to general contractor — 2 cents per foot, or $50, whichever is the greater, a $150 fee after the project reached 50 percent complete and a $150 fee for when the project is complete.
Hood Suppression Review, billed to contractor — $150.
New plan review fees
The resolution adds one fee under plan review.
Carbon Dioxide Enrichment Systems. Fee includes plan review and final system test and inspection, billed to the property owner — 3 cents per square foot or $150, whichever is the greater.
New On site Fire and Life Safety Inspections
These fees are billed on inspection form and paid by occupant.
Hazardous Material Storage, annual fee — $150.
State Required Inspections — occupancy uses A, B, E, I, M and R — $50. Occupancy uses F, H and S — $150.
Requested inspections outside of city limits but within department response area — occupancy uses A, B, E, I, M and R — $50. Occupancy uses F, H and S— $150.
New additional fees
Re Inspection Fee — $150
OUBCC Permit Fee — $4
If building is less than 10,000 square foot, 50 percent inspection on sprinkler and alarm will be waived.
