The Weatherford City Commission will meet 8 a.m. Friday at City Hall.

One item not on the agenda is a mask mandate within the City of Weatherford.

Monday, the city posted on its Facebook, “After visiting with the Mayor, there will not be a mask mandate vote this Friday at the city commission meeting. There was a discussion last Friday about wha each commissioner thought on the matter but no action was taken. As of right now there is no intention of a mask mandate.”

Two items on the agenda were tabled last month. Those items will be to consider inter-local agreements between the city and Blaine County, as well as the city and Southwest Oklahoma Regional 911.

Both agreements will be for the City of Weatherford to answer and dispatch 911 calls for Blaine County.

After those items are discussed, two items, approved by the Hotel/Motel Tax Committee at its August meeting, will be discussed. The first of those items is in regard to a grant to the City of Weatherford for the Porch Party on Route 66 event September 18-19. That grant is in the amount of $5,000.

The second of those items is for a grant to the Weatherford Area Chamber of Commerce for the Bulldog Strong event, which occurred August 20. The amount of that grant is $2,000.

The commission will consider issuing a sales tax revenue note for $13.315 million. If approved the city will make two payments per year from 2021 through 2030, using the Yes Weatherford sales tax revenue collected.

The Weatherford Public Works Authority, which meets after city commission, will discuss this item.

Commissioners will consider declaring a 6,000-gallon jet fuel storage tank as surplus.

The commission will consider a change order for the fuel farm project at Thomas P. Stafford Airport.

Commissioners will consider declaring a 2005 GMC

Sierra and a 2009 Chevrolet 2500 as surplus items.

Parks and Recreation director Trent Perkins will provide an update regarding the municipal swimming pool and splash pad. No action will be taken by the commission.

The commission will consider property abatements at 1312 Terrace, 1110 N. Bradley, 1505 Timber Creek, 418 E. Davis, 115 S. Washington, 218 N. Broadway, 604 W. Tom Stafford and 423 E. Franklin.

Commissioners will consider an emergency management performance grant.

The commission will consider a memorandum of understanding regarding the 2020 Homeland Security Grant program regional response system and compliance designation of the state as the agent for the local share of grant funding.
