Clinton HS resumes classes after being closed due to COVID-19

Clinton High School was closed Thursday and Friday to be cleaned due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health, reports 46 active cases in Clinton as of Monday, August 31.

The Oklahoma State Board of Education, Thursday, approved an “A/B” schedule plan for Clinton to return Monday.

The “A/B” schedule will allow in-person learning to continue. Groups of students will alternate going to school in person throughout the week. Students will go to school 2 days a week and will do virtual learning the other 3 days.

According to CPS Superintendent Tyler Bridges, students in the "A" group, which are all students whose last names begin with A-L, will attend school, in person, on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Students in the "B" group, which are all students with last names beginning with M-Z, will attend school, in person, on Thursday's and Fridays.

All CHS students will attend school virtually on Wednesday's following their normally scheduled class periods.

Last Wednesday, more than 100 Clinton students and staff were being asked to quarantine for 2 weeks due to possible exposure of COVID-19.
