A Clinton man has been charged with misdemeanor after an alleged assault and battery in the presence of a minor.

Beau Drinnon flagged down Clinton police after an altercation with his wife. He told police he and his wife had been fighting. Drinnon had several scratches on his face. He told police his wife had slapped him because he pushed her down, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in Custer County District Court.

When talking to Drinnon’s wife, the victim, she said Drinnon was putting his belongings in his vehicle. The victim removed items from the vehicle and Drinnon got upset and pushed the victim onto the cement driveway. Before letting the victim get up Drinnon scratched himself on the face with a key, according to court records.

Clinton Police Department then talked to the daughter and said she had been looking through the peephole in the door of the garage and watched Drinnon push the victim down and watched him cut himself on the face with a key, according to the affidavit.

CPD observed the injuries on Drinnon’s face and the scratches appeared to be more self-infliction than a physical altercation. Police also observed Drinnon’s clothes were not torn or ripped, according to court records.

Drinnon was transported to Clinton City Jail for domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor, according to the affidavit.
