Materials:

• Coffee Filters

• Watercolors

• Paintbrush

• Brown, yellow and orange construction paper

• Glue

• Scissors

• Large googly eyes

Instructions:

Paint the coffee filter in any desired pattern or colors. Use something to protect the surface on which you paint like newspaper or plastic table cloths.

While the filter is drying, Cut our two 1-inch by 5-inch strips of orange construction paper, legs from a 1-inch square of orange paper, 1-inch yellow triangle for beak, a 2-inch circle from the brown paper and 5.5-inch circle from the brown paper. For ease of cutting, find a printable template here: www.drive.google.com/file/d/0B-cV jZBMBNNXU21Eb01GMzBGY1k/ view.

Once the filter is dry, glue the larger. Place the larger circle on the vertical center of the filter with the bottom of the circle hanging about an inch off the bottom of the filter. Place the smaller circle with a ½-inch overlap with the larger circle.

Accordion fold the two legs and at the back of the filter. Attach the feet, beak and eyes as desired. For extra fun, cut the beak from the fold the paper to create a 3D effect.

Allow the project to dry and hang to decorate.
