The Custer County Board of Commissioners approved an agreement between the County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma Drug Task Force.

Sheriff Dan Day said this is an annual agreement with the task force and sets the percentage of forfeitures the sheriff’s office will receive from investigations the agencies collaborate on.

During the unforeseen business portion of the commissioner’s meeting, Sheriff Day said his office was coming off a rough week due to several COVID-19 cases and close contacts among inmates, deputies and administration staff. One inmate had to be hospitalized for a short time but has returned to the jail.

Day said the Clinton and Weatherford police departments assisted his office by taking calls when CCSO was unavailable. In addition, Day said the office was able to arrange testing quickly, which should make this week much easier.

The Oklahoma Department of Health reported Monday Custer County has 184 active cases of COVID-19.

The crew working on the courthouse window project also has been affected by COVID-19. Work will resume once the workers are well again.

The board signed and approved another large stack of road crossing and county right-of-way permits for the current wind farm project in Districts 1 and 2. The board also approved blanket purchase orders, purchase orders for payment and payroll.

The board approved resolutions to surplus and dispose of a printer for the treasurer’s office.
