County takes no action on road use agreement, Set to approve next week

The Custer County Board of Commissioners took no action on the road use agreement with Invenergy regarding the energy project in Blaine and Custer counties during it meeting Monday morning. Last week, the board put

Last week, the board put off signing the agreement while changes were made to third-party liability and placement of the transmission line. Monday, Assistant District Attorney Rick McPhearson presented the new agreement with a few minor changes for clarification to the board and representatives from Invenergy.

The minor changes included removal of phrases and additional information regarding county permit requirements.

Invenergy representatives said they had no problems with the additional changes, so the board will sign the new agreement next week once they have clean copies.

In other news, the board elected District 3 Commissioner Lyle Miller as the trustee for the South Western Oklahoma Development Authority. Miller will serve a 2-year term in this position which expires December 31, 2022.

The board also approved the Oklahoma Department of Transportation form 324a regarding to the Lawter Road Project. The approval dealt with the final expenses for the home and surrounding land as well as moving and closing expenses for the previous owners. This is the last land purchase needed for the project.

The board approved a receiving and requisitioning agent for the Custer County assessor’s office. The board also approved payroll, blanket purchase orders, purchase orders for payment and a pipeline permit in District 1.

The courthouse window project still is progressing well. The district attorney’s office is almost complete. The company is waiting on a special order widow. Workers will move to another area of the courthouse in the meantime.
