The Custer County Board of Commissioners discussed COVID-19 procedures for the county courthouse during Monday’s regular meeting. County Clerk Melissa Graham said she would like to see the current procedures continue until all the courthouse employees who want to get vaccinated have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The commissioners agreed to this and said they will revisit the item at that time. Courthouse employees will be available to receive the vaccine during the next phase of vaccination.

In other business, the board approved the grant for the Custer County Safe Rooms Program. This is County Emergency Management Director Mike Galloway’s yearly project which allows eligible individuals to get a rebate from FEMA for installing a personal safe room.

The board received a quick update on the courthouse window project. The crew is trying to make up for time lost due to COVID-19 and the recent weather event. Once the windows have been installed, the crew will begin on the entrances.

The board approved a resolution to surplus items for District 2. Commissioner Bruce Walker said there were items which had been junked but still were on the district’s inventory.

The board approved two ingress/egress permits for the Invenergy wind farm project in District 1. District 2 did not have any permits this week. Walker said he is waiting on some resubmissions.

The board approved minutes for the previous month as well as monthly officers’ reports, alcoholic beverage certificates and appropriations. The board also approved blanket purchase orders or purchase orders for payments.

The board also approved a change in the receiving and requisitioning agents for the county assessor’s office.

The board reconvened into the Custer County Law Enforcement Center Trust. The board received the trust update report and approved the minutes from last month’s meeting.

The board also approved one claim payable — $650 to the county general sales tax account for service to the jail generators.
