In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, Weatherford Public Schools and the Weatherford Daily News are sponsoring an event to thank WPS teachers for their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will be a “dragging Main” parade 4:30-5:30 p.m. May 7, right before the last day of classes. Teachers will line up, at least 6 feet apart, along Main Street, stretching from Broadway Street to Bradley Street. Community members are encouraged to parade down Main Street, celebrating and thanking the teachers as they drive by. Signs, posters and car decorations also are encouraged.
WPS Superintendent Chad Wilson said, “Thank you to our parents and teachers for surviving this last month and a half.”
