East and West Elementary are giving students a chance to travel through time with the Scholastic Book Fair, which begins today and will run through Thursday.

Students are able to shop 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during schools days. Families including parents, grandparents and legal guardians are invited to an outdoor shopping event — weather permitting — 3:30-6 p.m. Friday in the bus on the west side of the school along Daniel Street.

Students and parents also can shop online at www. scholastic.com/bf/westlibrary. Cash, credit cards and checks payable to West Elementary will be accepted. Parents also can set up an EWallet account for the students online.

In keeping with the time travel theme, the schools will give students a chance to dress as different time periods next week.

Monday’s theme is “American Frontier.” Students are encouraged to dress in fashions from 1863-1900. Tuesday is “Boomers,” where students can wear looks from the 1940s and 1950s. Wednesday is “GenX” from the 1960s and 1970s. Thursday is “Millennials and Beyond,” where students may wear clothing from the 1980s and beyond.
