Halloween events scheduled for next week

Door-to-door trick-ortreating will take place, according to Weatherford Mayof Mike Brown.

“Unless we see a big rise in COVID-19 numbers or something bad happens due to COVID-19 trick or treating will go on,” Mayor Brown said.

Thursday also features teh Weatherford Merchants Main Monster Mash, with participating stores being open until 8 p.m., with prizes, food trucks, games and discounts. In addition, shoppers can register for $5,000 in SWOSU scholarships to be given away. All are invited to participate, with spaces available on the sidewalks. The Great Plains Family YMCA will not have a festival this year, but they will be handing out goody bags as people drive by.

Thomas will host events on the week of Halloween. Businesses’ will have trick or treating downtown 4-5 p.m. October 30. The town Fall Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Halloween day along with residential trick-or-treating that evening. The Fall Festival will include activities such as a pumpkin carving contest, a pumpkin dessert contest, games and shopping.
