Thomas-Fay-Custer needed extra innings Tuesday to beat Okeene 10-8.

The Lady Terriers scored 2 runs in the top of the eighth. Kaylee Yoder opened that inning with a single. She scored in the next at bat on an error. Two batters later, Sydney Hampton singled before Katelyn Jones tripled to center field. Hampton scored on the play.

In the bottom of the eighth, pitcher Berekely Wright forced a fly ball out, a ground out and a fly ball out to win the game.

Okeene took the early lead in the game, scoring a run in the bottom of the first on an error.

Thomas answered in the top of the second with a run. Wright singled to left field with 1 out to get things going. AnnMarie Cometsevah doubled to center field. Wright scored on a sacrifice ground out and the game was tied, 1-1.

Okeene added 2 runs in the bottom of the second, scoring both on a 2-RBI single. It was 3-1 Okeene.

Thomas tied the score with 2 runs in the top of the third. Olivia Hampton led off the inning with a walk. Kaylen Jones hit a 1-out double to left field. She scored on a passed ball before Abby Payne reached base on an error. Two batters later, Jerneigh Roberts, who reached base on a fielder’s choice play, scored as Yoder reached base on an error. The game was tied, 3-3.

In the bottom of the third, Okeene scored a run on a passed ball to take a 4-3 lead.

Thomas answered with a run in the top of the fourth. Olivia Hampton reached base on an error. Kaylen Jones singled. Olivia Hampton scored as Payne reached base on an error. The game was tied, 4-4.

In the bottom of the sixth, Okeene scored 4 runs on an RBI single and a 3-RBI triple to make it 8-4.

Thomas tied it with 4 runs in the top of the seventh. Yoder led off the inning with a triple to left field. She scored when Wright singled to center. Three batters later, Katelyn Jones singled and Wright scored. Katelyn Jones scored as Olivia Hampton reached base on an error. Kaylen Jones singled and Olivia Hampton scored as Payne singled to center field. The game was tied again, 8-8.

Wright gave up a single in the bottom of the seventh, but then forced a ground out, got a strike out and a fly ball out to keep the game tied and force extra innings.
