Sheriff Raji, administrator of Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford said a lawsuit filed against their Weatherford location and against him, individually, is filled with misinformation and inaccuracies and, therefore, is without merit.

According to Raji, the party mentioned in the lawsuit has never been a resident of Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford. In fact, Raji said he was contacted months back about the woman’s residency location and told the caller she had never been a resident there.

Consequently, Raji said he should not have been named in the lawsuit as well because he was never the administrator of a facility where the woman lived.

“I am frustrated a lawsuit can be filed like this without due diligence in simply finding out what is the truth. A simple phone call could have resolved this and avoided shedding a false light on me and our facility in Weatherford. The carelessness of the attorneys makes this very frustrating,” Raji said.

When talking with the attorney representing the plaintiff, Ernie Tosh of Grapevine, Texas, Tosh said he thought the woman was a resident in the facility in Weatherford because her family said she was. Tosh did not know whether the woman and her family were from the Weatherford area.

In the petition, the plaintiffs allege the mother of the plaintiff died of a bowel obstruction due to negligence of the facility in Weatherford. The plaintiff is seeking monetary compensation. Raji said he was never served in the lawsuit and did not even know about the suit until it appeared in the Weatherford Daily News.
