Monster Mouths

Materials:

• Toothpicks

• Lemon juice

• 4 large apples

• Peanut butter

• Red-colored jam

• Dried berries

• Slivered almonds

• White chocolate chips

• Chocolate chips

• Parchment paper or silicone baking mat

Instructions:

Core apples and cut into four or five pieces each depending on the size of the apples. Cut at an angle which will allow them to stand up on their own.

Cut a wedge out of each apple piece for a mouth. Do not cut the bottom part of the mouth on a downward angle. Make the mouth openings big enough to add the teeth. Dip the mouths in lemon juice of use a pastry brush to spread the juice on the outside and inside of the mouths.

Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on the top and bottom of the opening. Add dots of jam along the bottom of the opening. Add a slice of dried fruit where you want the tongue.

Use a sharp knife to stab where the teeth will be placed and insert the slivered almond pieces.

Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring every 10 seconds. Doll small disks of white chocolate onto the tip of the toothpicks. Add a chocolate chip in the center for the pupil. Allow the chocolate to harden and then stick the toothpicks in the top of the mouths.
