During a Custer County Commission meeting Monday, commissioners discussed a Route 66 bike group which will come through Weatherford.

Following the meeting the Weatherford Daily News contacted Mayor Mike Brown.

“There’s a resolution which involves a bicycle group traveling through our state along Route 66. A lot of times they stop through communities and spend the night. This basically states, for the county as well as the city, we’re in support of the group. This item will be on the city commission’s agenda as well,” Brown said.

For the county this item is expected to be listed on next week’s agenda and open for voting. Lyle Miller said he tabled the item for next week because it was too late to add to Monday’s agenda.

The commission also discussed bids on one or more used tractors. Due to the commissioner’s questions to bidders regarding engine maintenance and warranties, the commission decided to table the vote for next week’s meeting.

The commission unanimously approved agreements with Air Med Care, CTC for Custer County, Pitney Bowes for County Clerk, R & R Water Conditioning LLC., Turn Key Health, ITouch, SWOR 9-1-1 Board, ASAP Energy and SPC Office.

The commission also unanimously approved the Oklahoma Department of Transportation form 324a for the purchase of a 2020 international cab and chassis for district 2.

The commission then unanimously approved ODOT form 324a for the purchase of 2021 Godwin dump bed and 2021 Monroe sand spreader for district 2.
