Shooting case continued to Sept. 4

The case against a Weatherford man who allegedly shot at another person and tried to run them over, has been continued to September 4.

John Christopher Henson, 48 of Weatherford, faces charges of firstdegree burglary, use of a vehicle in discharge of weapon, feloniously pointing a firearm, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed with the Custer County District Court.

His case, has been continued to September 4, where he will either need to set of waive his preliminary hearing, court records indicate.

The Weatherford Police Department received a report of a person in a yellow Hummer, later identified as Henson, who allegedly shot a gun at another person in an alley and then tried to run the victim over in his vehicle, hitting a dumpster. The reporting person said they saw the Hummer leave the scene, court records show.

Officer Justin Bushong went to meet with the victim who said

Henson had been harassing his daughter. The victim said he had been trying

The victim said he had been trying to mend his relationship with his daughter. Henson allegedly asked the victim if he could contact the victim’s daughter, and the victim said he could, giving him her contact information.

While the victim was in the alley, Henson allegedly drove within 6-10 feet of the victim in his Hummer, pointed a pistol out the window and fired it into the ground. Henson has no previous related
