THOMAS — A 40-yearold Thomas man faces felony charges of first-degree burglary, domestic abuse — assault and battery, trespassing after being forbidden, and disrupt/prevent/interrupt emergency telephone call, for an incident June 16.

Thomas police arrested Matthew Grant Moore in connection with the incident.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in Custer County District court, Moore was allegedly involved in the incident in the 300 block South Third in Thomas.

Thomas Deputy Chief Robert Barger received a phone call about 8:10 p.m. that day from a female subject, Crissy Lynn Adams, who told the deputy chief a male subject was trying to break into her home. That subject was later identified as Moore, court records indicate.

Adams told Barger she had asked Moore to leave and he allegedly refused. During the phone call, Adams said Moore had made his way into her home. After Adams informed Moore she was talking to the police, the phone hung up, court records show.

Moore had left the scene before Barger was able to get there. Custer County Reserve Deputy and Thomas Police Chief Nick Doe, who was assisting Barger with the investigation left the scene to try and find Moore. Moore was traveling north on South Third, with Doe following him with the police lights on, court records indicate.

Moore’s vehicle stopped in the driveway of Adams’ home, stepped out of the vehicle and was placed in the backseat of a patrol vehicle, court records show.

Barger spoke with Adams about the incident, where Adams said Moore had allegedly used a crowbar inside his vehicle to break in to Adams’ home. This attempt followed an incident where Adams had ordered Moore to leave her alone. As Adams had called the police, Moore allegedly took the phone and hung it up, court records indicate.

Adams told Barger about an incident which had occurred June 14, where Moore had allegedly abused Adams. Barger observed a bruise on Adams’ left collar bone and bruising on an arm, court records show.

Adams told Barger the only injury which occurred June 14 was the collar bone injury. She told Barger Moore had allegedly inflicted the injury, court records indicate.

A records check on Moore, indicated he had allegedly been trespassed from the property previously and was not allowed back at the property, court records show.

Moore was then placed under arrest.

He is due back in court July 8 for an attorney date, then July 24 for a preliminary hearing conference.
