Tuttle beats Weatherford, 9-1

TUTTLE — In a battle for first place in District 4A-3, Tuttle got the upper hand, beating Weatherford 9-1.

Neither team scored in the first, but Tuttle was able to get a run in the bottom of the second on an RBI single.

Tuttle added to its lead in the bottom of the third with 2 runs on a 2-run home run over the wall in center field. The score was 3-0 Tuttle.

The Lady Tigers added 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth on back-to-back 2-RBI singles. It was 7-0.

Weatherford got on the board in the top of the sixth. Megan Mills led off the inning with a double to center field. Meliah Brown reached base on an error. Mills scored as Camry Teasley hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field. Tuttle was ahead 7-1.

The Lady Tigers scored 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly ball out and an RBI single to make it 9-1.

Tuttle improved to 12-0 in district and the loss dropped Weatherford to 9-2.
