The Weatherford Daily News introduces the “People” edition, a printed edition premiering this Monday.

The first Monday edition in WDN history, the People edition will be available to subscribers through the mail and to everyone through newsstands around Weatherford.

The People edition is Phase 1 of WDN easing back into five printed editions each week. Starting Monday, WDN will have print editions Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and will slowly reintroduce more printed editions as Weatherford and the state continue to open up.

The edition is a follow up to the Weatherford Superstars series, which featured the Weatherford OPAA! team, Tony Cannon and many of the local health care workers who went above and beyond during the pandemic. WDN Publisher Phillip Reid decided to continue this theme by talking to local people with interesting hobbies, travels, talents or experiences.

Monday’s edition will feature Mac McCune and his leathercraft, Olympic hopeful and former SWOSU coach Deborah John, current SWOSU coach Zach Saunders and commentary by local artist John Kokalis.

To nominate someone with an interesting story, contact the WDN office at (580) 772-3301 or wdn@wdnonline.com, or send a direct message to the WDN Facebook page.
