Weatherford finishes district play 11-3

OKLAHOMA CITY — Weatherford finished its district season with a record of 11-3 Thursday, beating Mount Saint Mary 25-1.

The Lady Eagles scored 9 runs in the first, 9 runs in the second and 7 runs in the third.

Camry Teasley led off the game with a walk. Three batters later, she scored as Autumn Phillips singled to center field. Hayden Warren, pinch running for Phillips, scored in the next at bat when Kennedy Stewart singled to center field. Weatherford was up 2-0.

Stewart scored on a passed ball before Randi Helt walked. Vanessa Davis walked and Megan Mills was hit by a pitch to load the bases with 2 outs. Helt scored when Ember Hensley was hit by a pitch to make the score 4-0.

Both Lily Brown, pinch-running for Davis, and Mills scored as Teasley doubled to right field. Both Hensley and Teasley scored when Hunter Bayless singled to center field. Abbie Moses reached base on an error before Phillips doubled to center field, scoring Bayless. Weatherford was ahead 9-0.

In the top of the second, Helt led off the inning with double to left field. Davis then walked. Both Helt and Brown scored as Mills doubled to center field. It was 11- 0 Lady Eagles.

Hensley singled to right field to put runners on the corners. Teasley drove in Mills with a single to center. Bayless was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Moses drew a walk and Hensley scored. It was 13-0 Weatherford.

Phillips singled center field and Teasley scored. Stewart drew a bases-loaded walk and Bayless scored. Helt hit into a fielder’s choice and Moses scored to make it 16-0.

Davis was hit by a pitch. Mills singled to center field and Stewart scored. Then, Hensley singled to right field and Helt scored. It was 18-0 Weatherford.

Dacey Morris led off the top of the third with a walk. Madison Pebly was hit by a pitch to put two on with no one out. Caton Young singled to left field to load the bases. Phillips walked and Morris scored to make it 19-0.

Both Pebly and Young scored as Carsyn Chase singled to left field. Then, Phillips scored when Warren singled. It was 22-0 Weatherford.

Davis was hit by a pitch before Brown reached base on an error. Chase scored on the play. Cydnee Henderson hit into a fielder’s choice and Warren scored. Brown scored as Morris singled to left field, making it 25-0 Lady Eagles.

Mount Saint Mary scored a run in the bottom of the third on a fielder’s choice play. It was 25-1.

With the win, Weatherford finishes the district season 11-3. Bi-District tournaments are scheduled for this week, however the Class 4A pairings were not available as of press time.
