Weatherford livestock exhibitors have good start to season

Even through the pandemic, 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors are getting the opportunity to show their animals at shows across the state.

Weatherford students have taken advantage of these opportunities and have found lots of success early on.

August 20-22 members participated in the Kiowa County Jackpot and the Certified Oklahoma Breeders Association (COBA) pig show. Some of the highlights include:

• Grady Chaplin — Grand Steer Kiowa County Jackpot

• Kylee Falasco — Champion Cross Gilt Kiowa County Jackpot, Breed Champion Chester Gilt COBA, Reserve Breed Champion York Gilt County Jackpot

• Kamri Bryant — Reserve Breed Champion Berk Gilt COBA

• Neely Pritchard — 2nd Place Hamp Kiowa County Jackpot

• Mason Pritchard — 3rd Place AOB Kiowa County Jackpot, 3rd Place Cross Gilt Kiowa County Jackpot

• Layna Navarre — 3rd Place Cross Wether Lamb Kiowa County Jackpot

• Randon Folsom — 4th Place AOB COBA

August 29, exhibitors had the opportunity to participate in the Hinton Fair Livestock Show and the Rumble Pig Jackpot. Results:

• Kason Proffitt — Grand Champion Barrow, Champio Spot Barrow

• Kylee Falasco — Grand Champion Gilt, Champion Hampshire Gilt,

• Grace Duree — Reserve Grand Gilt

• Kamri Bryant — Champion, Champion York Gilt Hinton

• Carson Allen — Champion Shrop Wether, 1st Place Hampshire Wether

• Kaitlyn Bryant — Reserve Champion Light Cross Jackpot, 3rd Place Hampshire Gilt Jackpot

• Grace Duree — Reserve Champion Duroc

• Layna Navarre — 1st Place Cross Wether

• Mason Pritchard — 2nd Place Dark Cross Jackpot

• Neely Pritchard — 4th Place Hamp Gilt Rumble, 4th Place AOB Gilt Rumble

The livestock exhibitors competed at the Custer County Fair Friday, and will be at the EYO in Duncan September 18-20. They will finish out the season September 28- October 4 at the Tulsa State Fair.
