Numbers reported by the Oklahoma Tax Commission show Weatherford sales and use tax are down for the month of July.
Weatherford sales tax is down 12.3 percent, bringing in $851,740.54 in 2020 compared to $971,218.51 in July 2019.
Weatherford use tax also was down 23 percent, bringing in $102,130.78 in 2020 compared to $132,643.40 in 2019.
Other local communities also experienced a drop in sales tax. Clinton was down 7.51 percent with $444,866.28 in 2020 compared to $480,977.53 in 2019.
Elk City also was down 7.87 percent, bringing in $1,028,371.34 in 2020 compared to $1,116,171.15 in 2019.
While Weatherford use tax was down, many other areas saw an increase.
Clinton use tax was up 76.52 percent. The City of Clinton brought in $57,444.62 in 2020 compared to $32.541.96 in 2019.
Cordell also saw a large increase in use tax due to its new 1-percent sales tax. The city brought in $15,839.65 in 2020 compared to $7,945.21 in 2019 — a 99.36-percent increase.
Hydro had a 73.21-percent increase, bringing in $10,320.17 in 2020 compared to $5,958.12 in 2019.
Altus had a 21.47-percent increase from $104,697.44 in 2020 to $86,193.18 in 2019. Woodward had a small increase of 10.06 percent. The city brought in $81,429.51 in 2020 compared to $73,987.25 in 2019. Chickasha saw a 1.67-

El Reno experienced an 86.99-percent decrease from $613,361.77 in 2019 to $79,814.62 in 2020.
Enid was down 57.79 percent, bringing in $406,748.70 in 2020 and $963,706.88 in 2019.
Elk City was down 19.93 percent from $134,496.99 in 2019 to $107,695.31 in 2020.
Thomas saw a 7.67-percent decrease from $7,153.49 in 2019 to $6,604.85 in 2020.
