Ethel May Clark Pankratz was born May 14, 1938, to Robert L. and Mary E. (Platt) Plunkett in Washita County. She passed away Wednesday March 2, 2022, at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro at the age of 83.

Church services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at First Christian Church in Hydro, with the Rev. Rick Dyson and the Rev. Steve Entz officiating. Burial will follow 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Memorial Garden Cemetery, in Wellington, Texas.

Ethel spent most of her life in Wellington, Texas, and attended school through the 8th grade in Samnorwood, Texas. She later moved to the Hydro-Eakly area in Oklahoma in 1989. Ethel worked as a waitress at The Cherokee Inn in Wellington and later worked for a short time at the Carnegie Nursing Home in Oklahoma.

She enjoyed bingo, word puzzles, watching game shows, coffee time at the Quick Shop, visiting with her friends at the Senior Citizens Center. Ethel was treasurer for the Hydro Senior Citizens and a member of WMO of Bethel Mennonite Church, and attended The First Christian Church.

Survivors Include: her children; George Tipton and girlfriend, Susan, of Bowie, Texas, Mary Walker and husband, Brian, of New Goshen, Indiana; three grandchildren, Jim Clark, of Hollis, Justin Fickling, of Lexington, and Heather Sherman and husband, Cole, of Hydro; and son-in-law, Jimmy Fickling, of Hydro; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Jesse, of Childress, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Robert and Mary Plunkett; her husband, Lloyd Clark; five sisters, Julia Perry, Edith Waters, Opal Plunkett, Ruthie Bradley and Ruby Selley; three brothers, James Plunkett. Frank Plunkett and Ray Plunkett; and brother-in-law, Keith Jesse.

Services entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, of Geary.
