Funeral services for Marilyn Kay Cook will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church in Watonga with Pastor Dianna Matli officiating.
The funeral service at the church is for family and church members, the burial, open to the public, will be directly after at the East Mt. Pleasant Cemetery east of Watonga with arrangements by Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga. Social distancing will apply and masks are required at the church.
Marilyn Kay Cook was born March 23, 1953, in Watonga to Martha and Ernest “Bud” Edsall and passed away July 25, 2020, at the age of 67.
She was a resident of the Watonga community most of her life, spending the last 40 years on the family farm. Marilyn graduated from Watonga High School and attended Eastern New Mexico University and was a member of the Watonga First United Methodist Church. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially watching her grandchildren grow. She had the most fun working at the End O’Main where she made lifelong friendships. She loved spending time outdoors where she was able to read and reflect.
She married John David Cook at Watonga, Oklahoma on May 12, 1973.
Marilyn is survived by her husband John Cook of the home in Watonga; one son, John David Cook, Jr. of Weatherford; three daughters, Charity and James Blood of Canton, Crystie and Brady Quisenberry of Weatherford, and Cara and Carlos Estrada of Naperville, Illinois; one brother, Ernest Daniel Edsall of Watonga; three sisters Kathryn Edsall Wilson of Quartz Mountain, Susan Edsall of Canton, and Virginia and Jerry Unruh of Hitchcock; four grandchildren, James Robert Blood II and wife Bridget of Oklahoma City, Charles Ernest Blood of Canton, Emma Sofia Quisenberry of Weatherford, and William Edward Blood of Canton; two great grandchildren, Dakota Kay Blood of Oklahoma City, and Wesson James Blood of Canton.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Bud and Martha; and her daughter, Carmea Caye.
