Funeral services for Vesta Lorene Lawter, 81 year-old Weatherford resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Clint Carter officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Lorene was born December 25, 1938, in Weatherford to Leman and Luella (Kidd) Banner and went to be with her heavenly Father Wednesday, July 22, 2020, in Weatherford. Lorene was raised south of Weatherford on the family farm and attended school in Weatherford, graduating with the Class of 1957. On
Services are pending for Patricia Mae “Pat” Springer, 71 year-old Weatherford resident. Services are under the direction of Lockstone June 1, 1957, Lorene married Edgar Glen Lawter in Weatherford and made their home in Oklahoma City. They returned to Weatherford in 1962 where she ran a daycare business for 20 years. Lorene enjoyed her grandchildren, church activities, trips to Branson, Thunder basketball and Texas Rangers baseball.
Lorene is survived by: two daughters, Barbara Adams of Weatherford and Carolyn Barron and husband Sammy of Weatherford; one sister, Wanda Lamborn of Clinton; six grandchildren; and ten greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and one brother, Melvin Banner.
