SWOSU baseball updates 2021 schedule

SWOSU baseball has paused team activities, consistent with COVID-19 protocols set forth by the Great American Conference. Due to the pause, the Bulldogs will be unable to play their first scheduled games of the season February 5-7 at the West Texas A&M Tournament in Canyon, Texas.

The SWOSU men’s basketball team is riding high following its second consecutive victory, a 99-66 win against rival Northwestern Oklahoma State Monday night at Percefull Fieldhouse. The win marks the third straight win by SWOSU against Northwestern and their second consecutive win against the Rangers in Alva.

SWOSU bounces back with win at rival

The SWOSU women’s basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season with an 87-77 win against rival Northwestern Oklahoma Stateat the Percefull Fieldhouse in Alva. The Lady Bulldogs started the game off by trading buckets with Northwestern for much of the first quarter, heading into the second down 23-22, but a 10-0 run highlighted by two big three-pointers from Maddie Sperle helped put SWOSU up by four at half.

Thomas boys finish third in tournament

The Thomas-Fay-Custer Terriers basketball team went 1-1 this week in the West Central tournament, losing to Hydro-Eakly 74-47 Thursday, but beat Arapaho-Butler 59-48 Saturday to finish third in the tournament.

SWOSU falls to Oklahoma Christian in 5 sets

SWOSU volleyball returned to the court Sunday and opened its spring season with a hard fought, five-set defeat to Oklahoma Christian at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center. Oklahoma Christian won the opening set 25-22 before SWOSU rallied and took a 2-1 lead with extra-point set wins of 26-24 and 28-26.

The Corn Bible Crusaders basketball team won the consolation trophy of the West Central tournament after defeating Burns Flat-Dill City 47-41 Saturday at Arapaho-Butler High School. In the first round of the tournament, Corn Bible played at Hydro-Eakly, and lost 67-26.

Thomas girls finish third at West Central

The Thomas-Fay-Custer Lady Terriers basketball team went 1-1 this week in the West Central tournament and finished in third place in the tournament. In the first round of the tournament, Thomas was supposed to play Calumet, but Calumet had to drop out of the tournament because of some COVID-19 protocols.

Hydro-Eakly boys win West Central tournament

The Hydro-Eakly Bobcats basketball team remained unbeaten after winning three games this past week and winning the West Central tournament for the second year in a row. In the first round Tuesday, they defeated Corn Bible Academy 67-26.
