The Weatherford Lady Eagles volleyball team suffered defeat to Oklahoma Bible Academy Monday. “I think we were slow to the game and struggled to get going early,” coach Sandi Barr said.

The winners of the Weatherford Daily News football contest for the first week were announced Tuesday. Keller Cantrell, of Weatherford, took first place, picking 21 of 23 games correctly, missing the tiebreaker by 1 point and receiving 50 “football bucks.” Larry Adler, of Weatherford, came in second, picking 20 of 23 games correctly, missing the tiebreaker by 1 point and receiving 20 “football bucks” for second place.

Lady Terriers finish 1-2 at Fairview tournament

FAIRVIEW — Thomas-Fay-Custer traveled to Fairview Saturday for an abridged tournament and finished 1-2. Those game included an opening tournament victory against Kremlin-Hillsdale, 12-10, a 15-5 loss to Crescent and a 7-2 loss to Watonga.
