The Basics

The Oklahoma State football team, 4-1 in confernce and 5-1 overall, travels to Norman to face Oklahoma, 4-2 in conference and 5-2, 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman.

On the Air

The game will be televised by ABC with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe on the call. The contest also will be carried live on the Cowboy Radio Network, with Dave Hunziker handling play-by-play, John Holcomb providing analysis and Robert Allen reporting from the sideline. Fans outside of the Cowboy Radio Network can listen to the OSU broadcast for free through TuneIn Radio or the TuneIn Radio app.

In the Rankings

Oklahoma State is No. 14 in both the Associated Press and the Amway Coaches Polls. Including 2020, Oklahoma State has reached the top 15 of the AP poll at some point in 11 of the past 13 seasons. Oklahoma State also has seen a Top 10 ranking in the AP poll at some point in nine of those 13 years. Oklahoma State is the highest ranked Big 12 team, followed by No. 17 Iowa State, No. 18 Oklahoma and No. 22 Texas in the AP poll. Although the College Football Playoff rankings won’t be released until later in the year, it is worth noting Oklahoma State has appeared in the CFP rankings four of the past five seasons entering 2020. In addition to its No. 18 spot in the AP poll, Oklahoma also is ranked No. 17 in the coaches poll.

The Series

Saturday’s game is part of the all-sports Phillips 66 Bedlam Series between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. The Phillips 66 Bedlam Series is calculated by straight wins and losses in head-to-head competition. In sports where there is no head-to-head matchup, the Big 12 Championship final standings are used. Oklahoma State has won the overall Phillips 66 Bedlam Series in six of the past seven years and holds a 3-0 lead so far this season. A look at this year’s results to date:

Saturday’s game marks the 115th football meeting between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma in a series that dates back to 1904. The 2020 season also marks the 111th consecutive year the teams have met, with Oklahopma owning an 89-18-7 all-time advantage and a 42-10-2 advantage in games played in Norman. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy is 2-13 in his career against Oklahoma, while Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley is 3-0 against the Cowboys.
