The Hotel/Motel Tax Advisory Committee for the City of Weatherford unanimously approved Weatherford Public Schools request for hotel rooms for upcoming tournaments.
Weatherford Public Schools requested $7,000 for a Weatherford High School Basketball Tournament, which is currently scheduled January 7-9. The anticipated visitor attendance is 500 attendees within 75 miles, 250 attendees from more than 75 miles away and 25 from out of state. More than 25 rooms have been requested for two nights.
Weatherford Public Schools also requested $4,000 for the Max Dipple Wrestling Tournament in December. The full schedule has not been released. The anticipated visitor attendance is 600 attendees within 75 miles, 400 attendees from more than 75 miles, and 25 from out of state. Thirty rooms have been requested for one to two nights.
