Lady Terriers drop game at BFDC, 6-4

BURNS FLAT—a run in each the bottom of the third and bottom of the fourth were the difference in the game, as Burns Flat-Dill City beat Thomas-Fay-Custer 6-4.

Thomas started out the top of the first scoring 2 runs. Olivia Hampton led off the game reaching base on an error. She scored when Kaylen Jones reached base on an error. Jones scored as Abby Payne hit a sacrifice ground ball out. It was 2-0 early.

Burns Flat scored a run in the bottom of the first as the run scored before the double play was turned.

In the top of the second, Berekely Wright singled to lead off the inning. Two batters later, she scored as Sydney Hampton reached base on an error. Two batters later, Sydney Hampton scored when Olivia Hampton singled. It was 4-1 Thomas.

Burns Flat responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the second on an error, a fielder’s choice play and a stolen base. The game was tied at this point, 4-4.

In the bottom of the third, Burns Flat scored a run on a sacrifice ground ball out to make it 5-4.

Burns Flat added a run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single. It was 6-4 Burns Flat.
