Hydro-Eakly begins their baseball season; 4:30 p.m. Monday at home against Union City and their schedule might look different from years in the past.

“There always are a lot of good baseball teams we play,” Coach Chris Graham said. “We go to a lot of good teams and a lot of good teams come to us. Our schedule is challenging, but good for us in the long run.”

Hydro is playing in three tournaments. The Bobcats are hosting the annual Labor Day tournament and are playing in the Sentinel and Hammon tournament.

“A lot of good teams come to our Labor Day tournament,” Graham said. “It is an exciting tournament and a way for us to see where we are at compared to some of the better teams in the state.”

Graham said the Bobcats are competing against new teams this season.

“We are playing some new teams such as Navajo and Amber-Pocasset,” Graham said. “These are good baseball teams who will challenge us, but at the same time, I think we can compete with them and we mixed up our schedule a little bit by playing teams we are not familiar with.”

Hydro added two games to their original schedule. Instead of playing Erick August 17, they are now hosting Vici and playing at Amber-Pocasset, August 20.
