SWOSU men’s basketball was held to a season-low 48 points as they suffered a 62-48 defeat against Southern Nazarene Thursday night at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.

Southern Nazarene rushed out to an 11-2 lead less than 6 minutes into the game and built a lead of 19-7 with 10:07 to play in the first half. From that point forward, the Crimson Storm led a lead of at least 10 points for the remainder of the game.

SWOSU hit just 16-60, 26.7 percent, field goal attempts and 5-27, 18.5 percent, shots from 3-point range, but the lone bright spot was connecting on all 11 of free throws they attempted in the game. The Bulldogs failed to have a player reach double figures in scoring, with Bralyn James, Khobe Austin-Johnson, Damion Thornton, Chris Braggs, Jr., and Kamden Gipson each sharing team-high honors with 8 points.

The loss drops SWOSU to 7-9 on the year heading into the regular season finale at Oklahoma Baptist Saturday.
