The SWOSU Bulldogs golf team is back into action this spring and is ready to hit the course.

In 2019, SWOSU competed well in the regional tournament and were close to qualifying for the national tournament as they were one spot away.

The Bulldogs are coached by Brad Fleetwood. Fleetwood is entering his eight season as the coach and has coached the Bulldogs to much success. Ole Hatlelid is the assistant women’s and men’s golf coach.

In seven years, Fleetwood has led each of his teams to the NCAA Division II Championships twice, with the men qualifying in 2013 and 2015 while the women matched that mark with appearances in 2014 and 2019.

Fleetwood was named the 2016 Great American Conference Men’s Golf Coach of the Year and he has coached 45 All-GAC selections, 21 All-American Scholars, 15 All-Region selections, three GAC Freshman of the Year, three GAC Players of the Year, three All-Americans and two SWOSU Athletes of the Year.

The Bulldogs have five seniors on their roster this year and their first tournament is Monday, February 22, in the Rattler Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
