The City of Weatherford has begun bidding for utility relocation related to the Airport Road project, which is funded by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

The city will be accepted bids for relocation of water and sewage lines along Airport Road until 10 a.m., December 1. The bids then will be opened and read aloud in the City Clerk’ office.

This is the first step in the $7.6 million ODOT project which will widen the Airport Road bridge to five lanes, install sidewalks and install handrails for pedestrians. The City of Weatherford also has arranged to pay for space-themed decorations to the bridge and will be able to keep the concrete forms for future projects.

Other than the extra decorations for the bridge, the project will be entirely funded by ODOT.
