Christmas is more than 2 months away, but the Weatherford Ministerial Alliance has started preparations for its annual Caring & Sharing event.

The event provides Christmas presents to nearly 200 under-privileged families and about 600 children in Weatherford every year.

To raise money for this project, the Ministerial Alliance displays angels at Main Street and Washington Avenue during the holiday season. These angels can either be in memory of a loved one or in recognition of a business.

Angels are $100 for the first year and $75 for each subsequent year. The donation deadline is November 15.

For a donation form or questions, contact Tony Cannon, director of the Weatherford Ministerial Alliance, at tcannon1553@gmail.com or (580) 774-4402.

Due to the intense work in providing the angels, names and donations need to be turned in as soon as possible so workers can cut, paint, label and refurbish them.

Cannon said this is the Ministerial Alliance’s biggest fundraiser for the Caring & Sharing event which gives hundreds of local children a merry Christmas they may not have otherwise.

This year’s event will kick off will a “THANKmas” dinner for all qualifying families November 8. Families also will be given registration forms at this time.

Signup dates are November 15 and 22. Set up for distribution is December 10, followed by distribution December 11.
