The Custer County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution to update COVID-19 leave guidelines for all county employees.

The county now will pay for up to five days of sick leave per year for quarantining individuals, whether it’s from a positive test or direct contact exposure. A negative test must be presented before individuals can return to work.

The other small change is instead of listing all of the specific COVID-19 leave guidelines, the document states the county will follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines. This allows for some flexibility going forward. In other business, the board approved a resolution designating all county employees as essential. This was done with the recommendation of Emblem, who the county hired to manage American Rescue Plan Funds, in order to be more specific about who is considered an essential worker.

The board approved purchase orders for payment, blanket purchase orders and payroll. The board also approved changes to the requisition and receiving agents for the Custer County Sheriff’s Office.
