Hydro-Eakly baseball splits slate of weekday games

Hydro-Eakly baseball played games Monday and Tuesday this week and won a game but also lost a game.

The Bobcats defeated Riverside 13-1 at home but lost to Hinton 12-11 on the road. Hydro-Eakly falls to 11-3 and played two games Friday at home.

Hydro-Eakly 13, Riverside 1

The Bobcats scored eight runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Riverside scored its run in the top of the first inning. After this run, Hydro-Eakly scored eight runs.

Trenton Coe got on base in his first at bat and Carson Propps hit a two-run home run above the left field fence. On the next at bat, Paxton Price hit a home run above the right field fence. Nolan Gore scored off a wild pitch. Coe recorded a two-run RBI single when he hit the ball to shortstop and beat the throw. As a result, Caleb Warner scored and Xavier Sambrano scored off an error.

Propps recorded a tworun RBI double when he hit the ball to shortstop and beat the throw. As a result, Kolsen Tharp and Coe scored. Hydro-Eakly scored a run in the bottom of the second inning when Kolsen Tharp was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. As a result, Gore scored.

The Bobcats scored three runs in the top of the third inning.

Paxton Price hit a home run above the right field fence. Kolsen Tharp recorded a two-run RBI double when he hit the ball to center field. As a result, Warner and Sambrano both scored.

Hinton scored two runs off a home run in the bottom of the third inning.

Hydro-Eakly scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Gore recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball to left field and Paxton Price scored. On the next at bat, Warner recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball to third base and beat the throw. As a result, Gore scored.

Hydro-Eakly scored a run in the top of the fifth inning. Kolsen Tharp hit a sacrifice ground ball out, and Sambrano scored.

Hinton took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when they scored five runs.

Hinton scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, taking a 12-11 advantage.

Hydro-Eakly did not get a runner on base in the bottom of the seventh inning and lost the game 12-11.
