Hydro-Eakly baseball wins three games at tournament

AMBER — Hydro-Eakly baseball played in the Amber-Pocasset Classic tournament last weekend and won three out of four games.

The Bobcats lost to Atoka 11-3 Thursday, before rallying with three wins in a row. Friday, they defeated Ripley 13-3, and beat Amber-Pocasset 9-0. On Saturday, they defeated Arapaho-Butler 5-3.

Atoka 10, Hydro-Eakly 3

Atoka scored the first six runs of the game, as they scored a run in the top of the first inning and five runs in the top of the second inning.

Hydro-Eakly scored a run when Caleb Warner hit a home run above the left field fence. However, Atoka scored four more runs in the top of the fourth inning, taking a 10-1 lead.

Hydro-Eakly scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Carson Propps recorded an RBI single, when he hit the ball to right field and Trenton Coe scored. Nolan Gore recorded an RBI single, when he hit the ball to center field and Propps scored. Despite the success in this inning, Hydro-Eakly lost the game 10-3.

Hydro-Eakly 13, Ripley 3

Hydro-Eakly scored runs in every inning of the game.

Paxton Price recorded an RBI single as Coe scored on the play. The Bobcats scored two runs in the top of the second inning when Kaden Harris hit a sacrifice ground ball out, with Kolsen Tharp scoring. Propps was at the plate when the bases were loaded and was hit by a pitch. Brand McKay scored.

The Bobcats scored two runs in the top of the third inning as well. Xavier Sambrano recorded two RBIs when he hit a double into right field. As a result, Warner and McKay scored.

Hydro-Eakly also scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Warner recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball into center field and Paxton Price scored. Carter Tharp also recorded another RBI double when he hit the ball into right field and Warner scored. Ripley scored a run in the bottom of the third inning.

Hydro-Eakly scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning when Coe scored on a passed ball when the bases were loaded. Gore hit a ground ball to shortstop and was thrown out, but Paxton Price scored. Ripley did score two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Bobcats got the four runs they needed to end the game in the sixth inning. Kolsen Tharp scored on a passed ball when the bases were loaded. Coe hit a sacrifice ground ball to shortstop and was thrown out, but Calynn Henderson scored a run on this play.

Paxton Price recorded two RBIs when he hit a single into center field. Sambrano and Propps scored. Hydro-Eakly got three outs in the bottom of the sixth inning and won the game 13-3.

Hydro-Eakly 9, Amber-Pocasset 0

Hydro-Eakly won its second shutout game of the season and did not allow a single hit in its game against Amber-Pocasset.

Hydro-Eakly scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Price recorded an RBI single when he hit the ball into center field and Coe scored. Gore recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball into center field and Price scored. Warner recorded a sacrifice fly out into left field. Gore scored on the play.

The Bobcats scored three more runs in the top of the third inning. Propps stole home and scored. Kolsen Tharp laid down a bunt and made it all the way to second base off Amber-Pocasset errors and Warner scored off these errors. Carter Tharp recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball to center field and his brother, Kolsen Tharp, scored.

Hydro-Eakly also scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning. Harris hit the ball into left field and reached second base off of an error by Amber-Pocasset. Once again, his brother, Kolsen Tharp scored off this play.

Coe recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball into center field and McKay scored. Propps recorded an RBI triple and Coe scored. The Bobcats got the three outs in the bottom of the sixth inning and won the game 9-0.

Hydro-Eakly 5, Arapaho-Butler 3

In the top of the sixth inning, Propps hit a three run home run to give Hydro-Eakly a lead.

Arapaho-Butler scored a run in the top of the first inning. No runs were scored until the bottom of the fourth inning when Hydro-Eakly tied the game, 1-1. Propps recorded an RBI double and Harris scored.

Arapaho-Butler scored a run in the top of the sixth inning, and made the score 2-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. Propps hit a home run above the center field fence and Henderson, Harris and Propps scored. Gore recorded an RBI double, as he hit the ball into right field and Price scored.

Arapaho-Butler scored a run in the top of the seventh inning, but Kolsen Tharp caught a line drive and gave Hydro-Eakly a 5-3 win.
