Hydro-Eakly begins 2022 season 3-0

The Hydro-Eakly Bobcats baseball team has won its first three games of the season.

The Bobcats opened the season with a 13-1 win against Riverside.

Hydro-Eakly then played two games in the Pioneer Festival at Hennessey. The Bobcats defeated Stonewell 12-2 and Woodland 8-0. The Bobcats improve to 3-0 and will play in the Amber-Pocasset tournament this weekend.

Hydro-Eakly 13, Riverside 1

Hydro-Eakly scored seven runs in the top of the first inning.

The Bobcats loaded the bases and Trenton Coe scored on a passed ball. Nolan Gore recorded a 2-run RBI single into right field, and Carson Propps and Paxton Price scored on this play. Gore eventually made it to third base an at bat later, and he scored on a passed ball.

Xavier Sambrano bunted and reached first base safely. As a result, Kolsen Tharp scored from third base. Carter Tharp also scored on a passed ball and the next at bat, Propps was hit by a pitch and Calynn Henderson scored. Kaden Harris hit a ground ball

Kaden Harris hit a ground ball to third base and Caleb Warner scored from third base and Kolsen Tharp scored after an error on this play.

Hydro-Eakly scored four runs in the top of the third inning. Price recorded an RBI double when Propps scored from second base. Gore recorded an RBI single and Price scored. Harris recorded two RBI’s on a single and Gore and Warner scored. The Bobcats did give up a run in the bottom of the third inning, but they won the game 13-1.

Harris got on base in both of his at bats and he recorded three RBIs. Gore also recorded three RBIs and went 2-3 at the plate.

Hydro-Eakly 12, Stonewell 2

Hydro-Eakly scored runs in every single inning of the game.

Coe stole home and scored when Propps stole second base. Warner recorded two RBI’s when he hit a single into center field and Propps and Gore scored.

Hydro-Eakly scored six runs to increase a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Propps recorded two RBIs when he hit a double into left field and Henderson and Coe scored. Paxton Price recorded an RBI single and Propps scored.

Price scored on a wild pitch from third base. Sambrano bunted and Parker Price scored. Warner scored a run when he stole home, but Sambrano was picked off at second base.

Stonewall scored two runs in the top of the third inning. However, Hydro-Eakly scored three runs in the top of the third inning. Propps recorded two RBIs as he hit a single into left field. Brand McKay and Coe scored on the play. The Bobcats loaded the bases and Propps scored from third base when Sambrano was walked during his at bat.

Propps got on base in all three of his at bats and recorded four RBIs. Gore and Sambrano each recorded two RBIs and they both got on base during all of their at bats.

Hydro-Eakly 8, Woodland 0

Paxton Price pitched a complete game shutout for Hydro-Eakly, which was the first shutout of the season for the Bobcats.

Hydro-Eakly scored a run in the top of the first inning when Paxton Price recorded an RBI single into center field and Propps scored.

In the bottom of the third inning, Hydro-Eakly scored six runs.

Propps recorded an RBI triple when he hit a triple into right field. Coe scored on this play. Propps would score an at bat later off a passed ball. Warner recorded an RBI single when he hit a single into right field and Paxton Price scored.

Harris recorded two RBIs when he hit a triple into right field. Warner and Sambrano both scored. Harris also would score on a passed ball.

All the Bobcats needed was one more run to end the game in the fourth inning and they got it. Paxton Price hit a ground ball and was thrown out, but McKay scored from third base, which ended the game. Propps got on base in all his at bats this game, as he went 3-3 at the plate for the Bobcats.
